Bucking Bull Industry to Hold Auction This Weekend to Benefit Wildfire Victims

ABBI American Heritage Spot Among Items Offered at the TwoBulls Challenge Futurity Event

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 24, 2017)-This coming weekend at the 14th annual TwoBulls Challenge Futurity in Duncan, Okla. there will be an auction held to raise money for the cattle ranchers affected by the recent wildfires that swept through Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Colorado. The fires claimed human lives as well as devastating entire herds of cattle and destroying ranches and homes.

There will be an ABBI American Heritage (AH) spot up for auction on Saturday as well as other items to benefit the victims, including a spot in the Border Town Casino Arena (BTCA) Grand Futurity, donated by Rick Smith which includes a hotel stay as well as a food and gaming credit

TwoBulls event producer Jim McLain stated, "So many of us know someone who lost something in these fires and I wanted a way to give back and start to help some of these folks. It’s just an incredible amount of devastation that ranchers have suffered and I am proud that so many others in the bucking bull industry also want to step up to help."

ABBI member and stock contractor Gene Baker suggested to McLain that a spot at the American Heritage would be a good way to raise money. McLain then approached the ABBI.

"We were happy to be able to donate a spot at the 2017 American Heritage in Duncan," said ABBI Executive Director Jay Daugherty. "Normally to get into the event at this late date would run $25,000 so we are hoping it will bring something close to that amount to benefit our friends who are suffering from the recent fires."

Anyone can bid on the AH spot and other items to be auctioned, even if you cannot be at the event this weekend. Simply call McLain before Saturday at 580-678-8030 to arrange to place a maximum bid in advance, or to be on the phone to bid live on Saturday. McLain also welcomes other items or monetary donations to help the ranchers.

The money will be donated in the name of the bucking bull industry and will be going to agencies in the various regions who are assisting ranchers with their rebuilding efforts and day-to-day living expenses until they are back on their feet. McLain will also be donating some proceeds from the Challenge Heifer Sale to help the ranchers affected and said that this weekend's TwoBulls event Calcutta and side-pots will also help those dealing with the tragedy of the wildfires.
