LAS VEGAS (Nov. 7, 2016)- American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) held their annual World Finals Premier Sale Nov. 5 at the South Point Hotel’s Showroom. There were 21 lots available, and when the last bucking bull had sold, the total surpassed over half a million dollars.
“Each year we strive to bring our members a wide-range of bloodlines and coveted genetics,” said ABBI Executive Director Jay Daugherty. “This is a sale where quality is the deciding factor- and our sale committee works for months leading up to this event to secure the best possible stock we can offer.”
Highlights of the sale included Handsome Jeff, who was both the ABBI Regular Season and World Finals Reserve Classic Champion. The Rodriquez/Long bull sold for $65,000 just hours before he claimed his reserve champion title at T-Mobile during Round 4 of the PBR World Finals.
Hard-to-get Kish genetics were also in demand, with three lots from the west coast husband and wife team of Janelle and Don Kish being among the top animals sold.
Rider-age bulls (animals age 3 and above, who are old enough to compete against cowboys) were the hottest commodity this year, and 6-time PBR Stock Contractor of the Year Chad Berger was amongst those picking up new bovine talent for their truck.
This was the third annual ABBI Premier Sale. Over $2 million has been sold since the sale’s inception at the 2014 World Finals. Two lots went to benefit the ABBI Junior Program, who will be holding their own Finals Dec. 2-3 in Stephenville, Texas.
